Moto is slowly but surely cementing themselves as the "go-to" brand across a range of price points in the mobile space.

There are now 5 ranges of Moto phones: Z, X G, E and C. Each offers something different to match up with varying budgets, yet all are solidly built and capable in their own right.

The E4 Plus is the second step on the Moto ladder, providing some modern features - such as a fingerprint sensor - with a fairly basic specification to keep costs as low as possible.

You will still find all of the expected trappings of a smartphone in 2017, including high-speed 4G LTE connectivity and GPS, with a large removable battery and up to date Android 7.1.1 operating system.


Simplicity is the order of the day and the E4 Plus has a practically no-frills design. The whole phone is designed with a subtle curvature, from the rounded edges to the back-plate, to keep it comfortable in the hand.

From the front, you will see the standard 5.5-inch high definition panel utilises 2.5D curved-edge glass to blend into the casing. Rounded corners are mirrored by the ovoid fingerprint sensor on the phone's chin.

As you trace around to the back, the familiar Moto 'M' symbol is printed in a handy dimple - useful for holding and gripping the phone.

Also on the back panel is the new defining characteristic of Moto series phone: the large, circular camera lens cover.

The construction is from lightweight plastics, although the final finish still feels fairly robust.

Taking off the back panel of the phone provides access to the SIM and SD card slots, as well as the huge 5,000 mAh removable battery.


Showing a commitment to providing a modern experience even on cheaper phones, the Moto E4 ships with the latest Android 7.1.1.

This includes Google's recent updates for split-screen apps, improved notifications and permissions, plus several power-saving and efficiency measures.

Installed out of the box are the standard Google apps such as Gmail, Calendar, YouTube, Drive, Maps or Docs.

Everything you need to start enjoying a smartphone is available out of the box.

If you already have a Google Account, then you can sign in and instantly synchronise contacts and email, as well as stored payment details, Chrome bookmarks and other associated data.

The Google Play storefront is the window to a world of applications and media. You can choose from hundreds of thousands of free and paid-for apps, plus countless movies, box-sets, e-books and downloadable music.


The display on the Moto E4 Plus is a fairly large 5.5 panel with high-definition IPS LCD technology. This is more than large enough for comfortable browsing and navigating the phone's menus.

2.5D glass is used around the edges of the screen. This blends into the casing which makes the phone easier to hold and also reduces the likelihood of damage in the event of the phone being dropped on a corner.


An upgrade over both the basic C range and the smaller Moto E4, the E4 Plus has a powerful 13MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash.

On the front of the phone is a 5MP selfie cam. This also has a flash to help with low-light imagery and video calls - a bonus that still not many smartphones employ.

If you're looking for more recent advancements in mobile imagery (PDAF or large/high-density pixels), then you'll need to move up the Moto ranges towards the higher-tier X and Z handsets.

For the majority of users though, these cameras will be more than capable of taking snaps in well-lit situations, both indoors and out.


As you would expect from a new phone, several connectivity options are available on the E4 Plus.

Wi-Fi & 4G LTE allows you to access high-speed Internet connections both at home and on the move. Bluetooth 4.2 is available for pairing with speakers and headsets, as well as connecting wearables and smart home equipment.

The fingerprint sensor can help to secure your lock screen, as well as providing authentication for transactions made online with Google Pay.

Through the phone settings, you can also use the sensor to navigate the phone with taps and swipes, replacing the traditional Android control buttons on the screen.

If the goods are found to be faulty within 7 days, customers are entitled for either a full refund or replacement. Any item may be returned for any reason within 7 days from the date of dispatch. If you want to return the goods which are NON-DEFECTIVE within the 7 days period, please note that the returns should be in AS NEW CONDITION with FULL PACKING and DOCUMENTATION. If the goods are not in AS NEW condition or missing any packaging or damaged packaging, we reserve the right to refuse refund or a restocking fee of up to 20% will be charged depending on the condition of the returned goods. Delivery costs will not be refunded. To return the goods, please contact our Customer Service to request an RMA and follow the instructions to authorise the return of goods. Please refer to the Returns section below for details.

If the goods are found to be faulty after 7 days and within 1 month of purchase, the customer can send the faulty goods to our office, together with relevant invoice and PDAPlaza can arrange for repair services. Post fault investigation and within the specified warranty period, PDAPlaza repair service will be actioned at our discretion (please see Exclusions below) within 30 working days, at no cost to the customer. If PDAPlaza cannot repair the item within this period we will supply the customer with a suitable B-Stock item. If we do not have suitable B-Stock to replace we will source an equal alternative upon agreement with the customer or offer credit for the next purchase. For repair services covered by the warranty, the cost of shipping the goods back to the customer will be borne by PDAPlaza. Please contact our Customer Service to request an RMA and follow the instructions to authorise the return of goods. Please refer to the Returns section below for details.

If the goods are found to be faulty after 1 month of purchase, the customer can send the faulty goods to our office, PDAPlaza will arrange for repair services. Customer has to bear the repair costs. PDAPlaza will test the faulty unit and will provide a quote to the customer and if the customer agrees, we will proceed to repair the faulty unit as we see fit. If not, this will be communicated and the device will be returned to the customer, unrepaired. There will be a nominal shipping and handling charge on top of the repair charges. Shipping charges for returning the items shall be borne by the customers if they decide against repair.

A. Any damages unrelated to manufacturing defects.

C. CID (Customer Induced Damage) and NDF (No Defect Found). CID and NDF status will be notified to the customer when RMA inspection process is completed.

D. Software defects. Damage caused by applications or firm wares which are not compatible with the device.

E. Product has been tampered, repaired and/or modified without official permission. Tampering, rooting, modification or removal of the serial number label shall immediately void the applicable warranty.

Inspection and return shipping fee will be charged at the customer expense when the above causes of RMA return damages are present.

When you return your device, you will need to make sure that it is unlocked and free of security software that might prevent us from being able to access it. If the device is locked or disabled when you return it, we may have to charge you the full cost of the device and/or not process a repair/refund (if applicable).
Note: If you are not able to unlock or deactivate your device, please let us know before returning.

Please be sure that your device is restored to its factory settings without any personal data remaining prior to return. We will not be responsible for any use or disclosure of any data that is on the returned device during the assessment and repair process.
